Jan-Olof Backman has a broad experience from various industries and has previously built and led successful companies, such as Flygbolaget and Coor Facility Management, where the latter reached a turnover of SEK 8 billion and 8,000 employees. With his solid experience, he will contribute to intensify Layer Group’s work in business development and sales.

- Jan-Olof Backman has an impressive CV and has proven that he can build successful companies that are attractive on the market. With him in place, we will increase our professionalism even further and I am convinced that he will lead our board in a very efficient and pragmatic way. We are very happy and proud that Jan-Olof will be our new chairman, says John Strand, president and CEO, Layer Group.

-My first goal is to get to know Layer Group’s business model and how they handle customers and employees. I have built up companies myself and am curious about how the subsidiaries in the group are structured and how they operate locally. After visiting a couple of businesses, I am impressed by the entrepreneurship and forward thinking I have seen so far. I will continue the work Layer Group has already begun – to create a group and companies that develops and attracts employees, that supports and challenges and that becomes an industry leader through a sustainable and long-term way of working. A key is to attract and maintain the interest of all our target groups, says Jan-Olof Backman.

With Backman’s added experience, we continue our growth journey with the aim of being a leading group in the Nordics, with sustainability being one of our priorities. In Sweden, we can already offer our services in almost the entire country from north to south. In Finland, our journey has only begun. Together, we are currently 55 companies and more than 1,600 employees with a combined turnover of SEK 2.3 billion.
