Målerifixarna has painted the Town Hall in Västervik
Last autumn, Målerifixarna from Linköping painted the window frames and the roof of the building familiar from Sweden’s Christmas Calendar – especially important now that the building is receiving a lot of attention on television.
The picture shows Västervik Town Hall – a building that appears frequently in this year’s Swedish Christmas Calendar “Tidstjuven”. In Sweden, the Christmas Calendar is a yearly highlight. Even though it’s primarily made for children, many adults enjoy watching it too. This year’s Christmas Calendar broke the viewership record, with 1.2 million viewers tuning in to the first episode.
Målerifixarna mainly operate in the Linköping area, but this project has given them the opportunity to expand their work in Västervik.
The Town Hall was completed in 1795, and since 2015 the building has been home to Västervik Framåt, the municipality’s business development department.
