30 years with Gavlegårdarna, Håkan Wahlund at Högström Golv is responsible for an important contract

In September last year, our subsidiary Högström Golv secured a new framework agreement with Gavlegårdarna in Gävle Municipality. For over 15 years, they have managed this trust, not least thanks to the long-serving Håkan Vahlund.

Gavlegårdarna provides homes for thousands of families in Gävle Municipality, and for around 7,000 of their apartments, there is a local company ready to step in when new flooring is needed. We are, of course, talking about Högström Golv, and at the wheel sits their site manager, Håkan Vahlund. For over 30 years, he has worked with Gavlegårdarna, first as a floor installer and now as a site manager.

“Håkan is our star when it comes to this contract. He knows what is expected and how we can carry out the work efficiently and with high quality. For us, it is crucial to maintain the trust we are given, and in that work, Håkan is invaluable,” says Sophie Hedblom, CEO of Högström Golv.

The agreement is important for Högström Golv, and on Gavlegårdarna’s properties, an average of 4–5 of the flooring company’s full-time installers are at work. The common thread across all assignments is flooring, but the variety includes installation of linoleum sheets, wooden floors, and wet-room flooring.

Håkan Vahlund is in daily contact with Gavlegårdarna’s tenants and meets their renovation needs without major issues.

“Over the years, I’ve learned the best ways to solve problems, I know all the floor areas, I can navigate everywhere, and I feel I have a good relationship with everyone. As a site manager, I can give security to our installers and share my experience. I remember when I was a floor installer, I knew almost all the apartment measurements by heart, it says something about my commitment to Gavlegårdarna,” Håkan says with a smile.

Högström Golv specializes in framework agreements for flooring and also has agreements with Gävle Municipality, Hofors Municipality, Sandviken Municipality, Ockelbo Municipality, and Älvkarleby Municipality.
